  • 2 oz. bourbon whiskey
  • 3/4 oz. honey simple syrup
  • 3/4 oz. lemon juice

Add the bourbon, honey simple syrup, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker and fill with enough ice cubes to match the liquid. Shake vigorously (honey is difficult to blend, so don't hold back) until you hear the ice breaking down and the outside of the shaker is really frosty. Strain into a drinking glass over a single large ice cube and enjoy.

Honey Simple Syrup

Combine 1/3 cup of water and 1 cup of honey in a sauce pan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and stir continuously until the two are completely combined. Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool. Store refrigerated in an air-tight container for up to two weeks.


Use a splash more bourbon to cut the sweetness. You probably don't want to mess with anything else.
